Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Say It is an independent online word-guessing game. This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the service and why.

2. Data we process

Game data: the player name you enter, the room you join, your team, scores and the words you add to a room. Rooms and their data are temporary and are deleted automatically after a period of inactivity.

Account data (optional): your email address, an optional display name, a hashed password and the word packs you save. We never store passwords in plain text.

Technical data: IP address, browser type and basic request logs needed to run and secure the service. If you opt in to voice chat, audio is sent directly between players (peer-to-peer) and is never recorded or stored by us; only signalling messages pass through our server.

3. Why we process it

To run the game (real-time rooms, teams, scoring), to provide your account and word packs, to keep the service secure, to serve advertising in the free version and to comply with legal obligations.

4. Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads) or at www.aboutads.info.

Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads. We ask for your consent before ad cookies are set: you can accept or reject them, and change your choice at any time with the Cookies link at the bottom of the home and information pages. If you reject them, no ads are loaded.

Premium users do not see ads and no advertising cookies are set by us for them.

5. Local storage

We store a small amount of data in your browser (local storage and session storage): your current player id, room code, language preference, whether you are signed in and whether you accepted or rejected cookies. This data stays on your device and is required for the service to work.

When you sign in, we set one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in; it expires 30 days after your last visit. Scripts on the page cannot read it, it is only sent to our sign-in service, and it is never used for advertising or tracking. Signing out deletes it.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers needed to run Say It (hosting, error monitoring, Google AdSense for ads) and with authorities when required by law. Player names, team membership and words you add are visible to the other players in your room.

7. Retention

Rooms and their words are deleted automatically after inactivity. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and debugging.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. You can delete your account yourself on the My account page: it removes your email, name, password, sign-ins and saved word packs at once, and your stats are no longer linked to you. Results of finished games, with the player name you used in them, stay in the game history of the other players without a link to you. To exercise the other rights, contact us at the address below.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date shows the latest revision.
