A free word-guessing party game you play from your phones
What Say It is
Say It is a party game for two teams that runs in any browser. One player sees a word on their phone and describes it without saying it, while their team shouts guesses before the clock runs out. Every correct guess is a point, a skipped word costs one, and after everyone has had their turns the team with more points wins.
There is nothing to install and no account to create. The host opens a room, sends the link, a QR code or a Telegram, Viber or WhatsApp invite, and friends join from their own phones in a few seconds. It works around one table, across a living room or on a video call with people in different cities.
How a game goes
Everyone picks a team in the lobby — up to ten players, up to five per team. The host chooses the round length: one, one and a half or two minutes, or any length from 20 seconds to 5 minutes. When the game starts, turns rotate so that every player describes twice and nobody spends the evening only guessing.
When the clock runs out, the word on the table becomes the last word: the describer can still finish it, and the round ends when it is answered. After each round everyone sees the guessed and skipped words, which is usually where the loudest arguments start. Play again keeps the same teams and words for a rematch.
Your own words are the point
Most word games come with a fixed deck, and after a few evenings you know every card. In Say It anyone in the lobby can add words before the game starts — the nickname of a friend, the bar from last summer, the phrase your colleague repeats in every meeting. A round that suddenly asks you to describe an inside joke is the moment people remember.
A built-in deck of about 1,500 everyday words per language fills the gaps, and the host decides how much of it to use: all of it, a few dozen words or none at all. With a free account you can save your own word packs, reuse them in any room and add ready-made packs for the holidays or the office.
Captains mode for competitive groups
In captains mode each team’s captain writes the words the other team will have to describe. Captains can add a set of random built-in words, reroll the ones they do not like and pin the ones they want to keep. It turns the lobby into a small strategy game of its own: pick words that are hard to describe but fair to guess.
Is Say It free?
Yes. The game is free to play and is paid for by ads. Joining a room never needs an account; a free account only adds saved word packs and ready-made packs.
Which languages does it support?
English and Ukrainian. The host picks the room language when creating the room and can switch it in the lobby; everyone in the room then plays with words and an interface in that language.
Can someone join after the game has started?
Yes. A latecomer opens the invite link, watches the game and joins a team; they play from the next turn and describe when the rotation reaches them.
